Forum: opensource_movies Subject: "Vicissitude" - New Half Horse Film

Well, after a long and drawn-out process I found that filmmakers who POST their films get more downloads and feedback on their films. Who'd've Thunk It?! *smacks self*

Anyway, I'd just like to tell folks about a short movie I had created recently, made on a budget of about $7. 00, entitled, obviously and stratigically: "Vicissitude" (look the word up).

It is inspired by the magnificently haunting book 1984 by the wonderful writer George Orwell. For all of you Orwell fans out there, you will also know that another of his more famous works is Animal Farm.

If this film had a tagline it would be:
"Control. Period." and emphasize the period, for many of the people did not understand the purpose of it, and I just respond simply: "Control..." And then they're still like "I don't get it..." Some people are really weird though.

So if you'd be so kind, give some feedback and all. I'd really appreciate it. Really. And don't feel afraid to give constctive criticism, I can take it...just don't make me cry...*sniffs*

Thanks again

-Alex

Your long drawn-out process is flawed and its time to go back to the hypothesis.

Wait a minute. Your film has been reviewed three times, and two of those reviews were made by well-respected wordsmiths. Hell, even that Tambora freak tossed in some disconnected regurgitations. What I'm saying is, you HAVE received feedback. I'm sure more people would be happy to comment, but three reviews would be euphoric for most filmmakers.

I posted two films months ago. They enjoy, at this moment, an ~11% batting average and over 200 downloads each. But neither has a single review. I have no idea who's been downloading them, and I have no idea whether anyone ever enjoyed them.

I guess that's why I started reviewing films in the first place. I didn't like the feeling of not knowing, so I figured I could help some other people not experience it, if that makes sense.

I guess I went off on another tangent. I'm rather adept at that, aren't I? I'm done now. You made a good film. Please continue to make more. That is all.

I was just feeling that, like myself, there are people out there who arent doing anything. Some may have strong feelings about it, yet never do anything about it. I'm just going through a renewal phase. Watch out...hahahahah.

Cashel - I just saw your review for my La Valse. I'm honored and flattered. Thank you very much.
